Tasks of Living with Others

Fall 2006/Spring 2007 ---- Freshman Year of College

I lived on campus in an all girls dorm for my freshman year of college. I was roomed with a girl I had never met before. Her name is Stef and she was from the Philadelphia suburban area. Stef and I were very different in many ways. She enjoyed staying up late, going out all weekend, Ugg boots, Coach purses, Bebe dresses, and dieting every other week. Our one common love was football. Every Sunday we would do our homework and watch NFL games on the television. I believe this is the one thing that kept us both from going insane throughout the year. We would eat together sometimes and we were both very courteous and respectful to each other. We had our arguments and our weeks where we never wanted to see each other ever again, but we survived the year without hurting anyone. Overall, my first year experience in the dorms was probably an average experience.

Fall 2007/Spring 2008 ---- Sophomore Year of College

I chose to stay on campus for my Sophomore year. I also decided to live in the same all girls dorm on campus because of it's convenient location and fairly spacious rooms. This year I am living with a friend I met at home that rode horses with me for the past 8 years. She went to a private Christian school in our area and I attended public school, so we didn't know each other very well. She transferred to Penn State for the Spring 2007 semester. We started to hang out a lot and became good friends. We decided to live together for this year because of our common interest in horses and our involvement in Campus Crusade for Christ. We have a lot more in common than my roommate and I did last year. Sometimes it's difficult to get work done because we would both much rather be talking to one another. Our schedules are pretty similar which is a relief from last year. We have a lot of fun and get along very well.
